विधानसभा सत्र, अपनी घोषणाओं, योजनाओं और बयानों की वजह से उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री चर्चा में बने रहे और सकारात्मक छवि उभरी. लेकिन इलाहाबाद में दरोगा की गोली से वकील की मौत, उसके बाद पूरे प्रदेश में प्रदर्शन-हिंसा और आपराधिक घटनाओं ने मुख्यमंत्री की छवि पर विपरीत असर डाला.

टाइम्स ऑफ़ इंडिया ने 11 मार्च को लिखा- In a span of little over two years–March, 2012 to December 2014–Uttar Pradesh has witnessed 622 incidents of attacks on cops, the state government admitted during the Question Hour in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday . Replying to the question put up by leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the House Suresh Khanna, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohammad Azam Khan said: “FIRs have been filed and legal action initiated against 3,936 persons.“Alleging that attackers en joyed patronage of the Samajwadi Party, Opposition including the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party created ruckus on floor of the House and even staged a walkout. The moment House proceedings began after a fourday break on account of Holi, almost all Opposition members stood up as Bahujan Samaj Party and BJP claimed that killing of 33 persons in Holi revelry reflected the deteriorating law and order in the state.
हिन्दुस्तान का 12 मार्च की खबर में शीर्षक लगाया- सीएम ने दी ब्रज को अरबों की सौगात- एक दर्जन से अधिक योजनाओं का शिलान्यास किया. नवभारत टाइम्स- बुधवार को वृंदावन पहुंचे सीएम अखिलेश यादव ने वृंदावन के आश्रय सदनों की देखरेख और मरम्मत के लिए 1.10 करोड़ देने की घोषणा की. इस्कॉन मंदिर में दर्शन के बाद मुख्यमंत्री शहर के विभिन्न आश्रय सदनों से आई विधवाओं से मिले और साड़ियां बांटी. सीएम ने मथुरा के लिए कई और योजनाओं की घोषणा की. इंडियन एक्सप्रेस ने 13 मार्च कोलिखा- After offering cash grant for the promotion of film production in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has given his nod to the setting up of two film cities in the state. The government has agreed to provide land for a 300-acre film city — to be promoted by actor Ravi Kishan — and another 400 acre to Mumbai-based company Purple Seas.
