LUCKNOW: A little over 66% of the registered hospitals in the state capital are running without any proper fire fighting system with only over 30% having fire-fighting equipment as per standards. The fact came to the fore in the data shared by Lucknow fire & emergency services after a audit/survey conducted by it in Oct-November last year. The same was carried by HT in its November 16 2024 issue. When asked about the status of hospitals in terms of fire safety measures in the wake of Monday night fire incident at the LokBandhu hospital, Lucknow chief fire officer (CFO) Mangesh Kumar told HT: “The condition has only improved slightly but not much has improved.”
