Lucknow: EIGHT PERSONS, including two brothers, have been arrested for allegedly killing a 35-year-old Dalit farmer in Karchhana tehsil of Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district on April 12 over a suspected affair, police said. The victim, Devi Shankar, a resident of Isota Lohagpur village, used to speak to a woman over phone, which the prime accused, Dilip Singh, disapproved of, they added. A heated argument between the two on April 12 night over the issue led to the murder, police said. Shankar’s half-burnt body was found in an orchard the next morning. The other accused allegedly helped Dilip in the crime, those investigating the case claimed. Besides Dilip, the others arrested are Mohit Sing Singh, Manoj Singh, Awadhesh Singh, Vimlesh Gupta, Shekhar Singh, Sanjay Singh and his brother Ajay Singh, the police said.
