विवादों का समाजवादी पार्टी नेता आज़म खां के साथ चोली-दामन का साथ है. इस सप्ताह भी आज़म खां खबरों में बने रहे. इस सप्ताह उनकी सबसे ज़्यादा फजीहत की वजह बना जौहर विश्वविद्यालय का मामला.
अमर उजाला ने लिखा- विधान परिषद में नेता विरोधी दल नसीमुद्दीन सिद्दीकी ने कहा कि श्रम विभाग ने जौहर विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति को 20 करोड़ सेस (उपकर) जमा करने का नोटिस दिया है. इसमें कहा गया है कि 2000 करोड़ रुपये का काम हुआ है, इसके एवज में श्रम विभाग को सेस दिया जाना चाहिए. उन्होंने कहा कि जौहर विवि को जो नोटिस दिया गया है वह प्रदेश सरकार के श्रम विभाग ने दिया है. इसलिए जौहर विवि के निर्माण में 2000 करोड़ खर्च होने की पुष्टि होती है. इतनी बड़ी रकम कहां से आई, इसकी जांच होनी चाहिए. टाइम्स ऑफ़ इंडिया ने 11 मार्च को लिखा- In a span of little over two years–March, 2012 to December 2014–Uttar Pradesh has witnessed 622 incidents of attacks on cops, the state government admitted during the Question Hour in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday. The moment House proceedings began after a fourday break on account of Holi, almost all Opposition members stood up as Bahujan Samaj Party and BJP claimed that killing of 33 persons in Holi revelry reflected the deteriorating law and order in the state. राज्यपाल राम नाइक के बयान ने भी चौंकाया. द हिन्दू ने लिखा- Amid his strained relations with Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Azam Khan, Governor Ram Naik on Monday suggested that the controversy surrounding his “pro-activism” stemmed from Mr. Khan’s inability to digest Mr. Naik’s cordial relations with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Mr. Khan has been engaged in a war of words with Mr. Naik for a few months, with the Samajwadi Party leader accusing him of being a kar sevak and communally vitiating the atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh at the behest of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
इंडियन एक्सप्रेस ने 12 मार्च को लिखा- BSP stages walkout in Upper House- BSP members staged a walkout from the Legislative Council on Wednesday over the issue of non-payment of Rs 20 crore cess pending on Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, Rampur, of which Cabinet Minister Azam Khan is the Chancellor. Raising the issue through an adjournment notice, BSP MLCs presented a copy of the notice that H S Yadav, former Cess Coordinator and Consultant to Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of Department of Labour in UP government, had issued to the university vice-chancellor on January 23. In the notice, Yadav had stated that 16 buildings and boundary walls have already been constructed whereas 22 more buildings were under construction on the campus of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University. The notice further states that the estimated cost of these works was around Rs 2,000 crore and its one per cent (Rs 20 crore) should be paid to the board as cess within 15 days, but the university has not paid the amount. BSP also presented a letter of Board Secretary S D Shukla by which Yadav was relieved from his services on February 18 even though his term was ending in April. Speaking on the admissibility of the notice, Leader of Opposition Naseemuddin Siddiqui asked the government to clarify the source of Rs 2,000 crore used in the university and reply whether payment of cess was made after the notice. Siddiqui also demanded a discussion on the illegal works done by the university.
नवभारत टाइम्स ने 12 मार्च को छापा- रामपुर के जौहर विश्वविद्यालय के मुद्दे पर विधान परिषद में बुधवार को खूब हंगामा हुआ. बीएसपी ने विश्वविद्यालय बनाने में लूटखसोट और अवैध चंदा वसूली का आरोप लगाया. इस पर सपा की ओर से बीएसपी शासन काल के घोटालों के आरोप लगाए गए तो माहौल और गरम हो गया. सरकार के जवाब से संतुष्ट न होने पर बीएसपी ने सदन से वॉक आउट किया. अमर उजाला ने 12 मार्च को लिखा- कैबिनेट मंत्री आजम खां के ड्रीम प्रोजेक्ट मो. अली जौहर विश्वविद्यालय, रामपुर के निर्माण को लेकर विधान परिषद में बुधवार को मुख्य विपक्षी दल बसपा ने कई सवाल उठाए. कार्यस्थगन सूचना के जरिये यह मामला उठाते हुए बसपा के सदस्यों ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय के भवन निर्माण पर हजारों करोड़ रुपये खर्च किया जा रहा है. पर, लेबर सेस (उपकर) का लगभग 20 करोड़ रुपया अभी तक भुगतान नहीं किया गया. नेता प्रतिपक्ष नसीमुद्दीन सिद्दीकी ने कहा कि उत्तर प्रदेश भवन एवं अन्य सन्निर्माण कर्मकार कल्याण बोर्ड द्वारा लगाए जाने वाले इस उपकर को श्रमिकों के कल्याण पर खर्च किया जाता है.
