आज़म खां सियासत में अपनी अलहदा अदा और विवादित बयानों के लिए पहचाने जाते हैं. इस सप्ताह भी वह अपने अंदाज़ के चलते चर्चा में रहे और हिट रेटिंग में जगह बनाने में कामयाब रहे. उत्तर प्रदेश में विधानमंडल सत्र के आखिरी दिन उन्होंने भाजपा विधायकों समेत सभी विधायकों को तोहफे के रूप में एक बैग में झाड़ू, पेन और एक खत भेजा. साथ ही उन्होंने नरसिम्हा राव का स्मारक बनाने के केंद्र सरकार के निर्णय की आलोचना की. इसके साथ ही अमर सिंह के बयान कि उनका आज़म खां से कोई मतभेद नहीं है, लोगों को चौंका दिया.
संसदीय कार्यमंत्री आजम खां का विधायकों, मंत्रियों को दिया गया गिफ्ट सियासी हलकों में चर्चा में है. विधानमंडल सत्र के आखिरी दिन उन्होंने सभी विधायकों को तोहफे के रूप में एक शानदार बैग, झाड़ू, पेन और एक खत भेजा है. झाड़ू के साथ दिए गए इस तोहफे का सियासी लोग अलग-अलग मायने निकाल रहे हैं. विधानमंडल सत्र के आखिरी दिन 26 मार्च को आजम की तरफ से विधायकों को गिफ्ट के रूप में एक बैग दिया गया. कुछ को यह बैग 27 व 28 मार्च को मिला. विधायकों ने बैग खोला तो चौंक गए. यह स्वाभाविक भी था क्योंकि अमेरिकन टूरिस्टर स्ट्रॉली बैग में तोहफे के रूप में झाड़ू, पेन और आजम की एक चिट्ठी जो मिली.

पूर्व सांसद और आरएलडी नेता अमर सिंह ने सरकार के अल्पसंख्यक कल्याण मंत्री मो. आजम खां से अपने मतभेद होने से इंकार किया है. उन्होंने साफ कहा कि आजम से उनका कोई बैर नहीं है, समाजवादी पार्टी में मेरा मतभेद सिर्फ प्रो.राम गोपाल यादव से है.

कभी आजम के कट्टर सियासी दुश्मन माने जाने वाले पूर्व सांसद अमर सिंह अब उनके प्रति नरम दिख रहे हैं लेकिन सपा महासचिव राम गोपाल यादव के प्रति उनकी तुर्सी अब भी बरकरार है. अमर सिंह ने यहां शनिवार को अपने आवास पर पत्रकारों से बातचीत में कहा कि आजम खां से अब उनके कोई मतभेद नहीं हैं.
