Lucknow: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) House witnessed high drama as it passed a budget of Rs 4,304.53 crore for 2025-26 on Tuesday. The session, marked by protests and heated exchanges, eventually approved the budget, which includes Rs 3,307.86 crore for this fiscal year and around Rs 99.67 crore left over from the previous year’s budget in proposed expenditure. The major portion of the budget covers the property tax collection of over Rs 727 crore, while around Rs 316 crore tax collection was done by LMC till Dec 31, 2024. The budget introduces substantial increases across various sectors. Cremation ground renovation funds saw atenfold rise to Rs1 crore, while park maintenance was allocated Rs 6 crore. Municipal school funding received Rs 5 crore, and Rs 4 crore was allocated for e-office initiatives.
