Lucknow: In a much-awaited gift on the eve of Holi, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Thursday declared the final result to select 60,244 constables. This is the largest recruitment driver ever conducted by any state police force of the country and 12,048 candidates are women. Out of 60,244 successful candidates, 12,937 are from the general category, 32,052 from the other backward classes (OBCs) against 16,264 posts and 14,026 from the scheduled caste (SC) category against 12,650 available posts. Meanwhile, in the scheduled tribe (ST) category, 1,229 candidates were chosen against 1,204 designated posts. The recruitment process began with the release of an advertisement on December 23, 2023, inviting online applications for 60,244 Cons-table (Civil Police) posts. A total of 48,17,441 applications were received for these posts.
