Lucknow : In 2008, Ajay Ver-ma and his two relatives had invested Rs 1 crore to buy three flats in Sushant Golf Ci-ty. Even after a longandagoni sing wait of 16 years, none of them got the flats. The officials of Ansal API-the developer handing the Sushant Golf City project-kept giving excuses or asked them to change agreements, citing land availability in other sectors. On Feb 25, Verma’s dream for a house was bulldozed when the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) initiated bankruptcy proceedings against Ansal API and appointed an Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) for its pro-jects, including those in Luck now and Noida. “I have no words I don’t know what to do now. I had in-vested all my savings after selling the ancestral land in the project,” Verma told TOI in a choked voice. Ajay, who works with a private company in Lucknow, is not the only one affected. Around 7,000 homebuyers in Lucknow, Agra, and Noida stare at a similar fate after Ansal API declared itself bankrupt.
