LUCKNOW: A 21-year-old woman, who was set to get married in 10 days, was shot dead by a stalker on Sunday in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, a police officer aware of the matter said, adding that the accused later surrendered at the police station. The incident took place at 8.30am when the victim, a BEd student, was out with her father and younger sister for her wed ding shopping. “As they were going on a motorcycle, the assail ant alone chased them on a bike for nearly 500m before shooting her from a close range, they added. Bijnor additional superintendent of police Sanjeev Kumar Vajpayee said. “The accused was her classmate in the graduation course. He was arrested after he appeared before police, hours after the murder, and handed over the murder weapon.”
