Lucknow: A 15-year-old girl, who was asked by her mother to focus on her studies, ran away from home and attemp ted to conceal her whereabout by frequently changing her Instagram IDs. The police devised a plan to trace her by creating a fake Instagram profile. Officers be friended her online and, after gaining her trust, located her on Tuesday from Mathura ra-ilway station. Assistant com missioner of police, Mohan lalganj, Rajneesh Kumar told TOf that on Feb 4, a woman who drives a goods carriage reported to the Mohanlalganj police station that her 15-year old daughter had fled.
Despite scanning multiple CCTV footages, no significant leads were refound. “We searched nearly 150 hotels and public places but faced challenges since the giri left home without a mobile phone,” said Kumar. During the probe, it was fo-und that the girl used Insta-gram from her mother’s and aunt’s phones, and since her disappearance, the two IDs were locked.
