Lucknow: A three-member judicial commission led by retired Allahabad High Court judge Devendra Kumar Arora on Thursday (August 28, 2025) submitted its report on the November 2024 violence in Sambhal to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The members of the commission, which included retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Arvind Kumar Jain and former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Amit Mohan Prasad, met the Chief Minister and handed over the report on the violence that took place near the Shahi Jama Masjid in the city on November 24, 2024, during an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)-monitored survey of the mosque, which claimed four lives and left many injured. “The commission was constituted in the end of November and the Commission has now submitted its findings of the Sambhal violence to the Chief Minister, it’s a 450-page report. The report findings will be made public when it will be approved by the government,” judicial commission member Arvind Kumar Jain, said while speaking to the local media. Mr. Jain refrained from disclosing the contents of the report, describing them as “confidential”.
