Noida: The Noida International Airport-which has mis sed several deadlines since its foundation stone was laid in Nov 2021-will be operational by Nov this year, industrial development minister Nand Go pal Gupta “Nandi announced on Saturday “During the SP and BSP govts, the Jewar airport project would surface only around elections before disappearing again like a genie back into its bottle. But in the past eight years, work actually moved beyond files gathering dust. And now, the airport is set to be fully completed by Nov this year. It will be the lar gest airport in Asia and the fourth largest in the world” Gupta said during a review meeting of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The minister’s announcement comes after multiple missed deadlines. Originally scheduled for completion by Sept last year, the timeline was revised to April this year, then pushed to May-June be cause of pending work on the terminal building. This March, CM Yogi Adityanath had set a May 15 deadline for domestic flights and June 25 for international operations. Officials of Noida International Airport Lad said the concessionaire presented a phased timeline during a review meeting last month cargo and domestic operations were expected by Sept 15.
