Varanasi: Led by CM Yogi Adityanath, scores of BJP workers accorded a warm welcome to Union home minister Amit Shah in Varanasi on Monday Shah is in the city to attend the Central Zonal Council meet on Tuesday. When the fleet of Shah started progressing towards the highway from the airport, the leaders and workers from Pindra, Sevapuri, and Roha niya assembly areas showered rose petals amid chanting of slogans like Har Har Maha-dev. BJP leaders and supporters had gathered on both si des of the roads at Gilat Bazar and showered flower petals to fleet reached Lahurabir, the party workers, especially from the City South assembly, started blowing conch shells and playing damrus amidst flower petal showering. This scene continued till Shah’s fleet reached the Kaal Bhairav temple after crossing the Maidagin area. Shah and Yogi kept greeting the people and party supporters by joining or waving hands. During his stay at the Kaal Bhairav temple, Shah performed Aarti of the deity and sought blessings. Kashi region unit president Dilip Singh Patel said that party workers expressed gratitude to Shah for giving the honor to the city for hos ting the CZC meet. In view of the stay and movement of VIPs, three-layered security arrangements were ensured by police officials by deploying around 5,000 police and paramilitary personnel.
